As I was cooking breakfast this morning, I remembered a visit to relatives in another state, during which visit the gentleman of the house attempted to whip up a quick Sunday evening supper of omelets. This is an opinion post, but it's not about any national or world issue. I just finished my first of two cups of coffee for the morning. I've been working my way through what was labeled "medium roast" coffee from Africa. There's no doubt, it tastes like coffee; one wouldn't mistake it for hot chocolate, but it just doesn't cut the mustard for me. ( Read more... )

I'm sitting here having my first cup of coffee for the day, and while I was making it in my Chemex, I had to laugh at myself. Basically, making coffee in the Chemex is the same process as making it in my old Mr. Coffee but a lot more work. I do think the end product is better, but then that may be a matter of self-justification ... so I don't end ( Read more... )
